VAROSHA
Hope and Empowerment through Education and Opportunity
Varosha began in April 2004 with the simple idea that everyone should have a chance to provide a decent quality of life for themselves and their families. Unfortunately many people in the poorest parts of the world don’t have the means or opportunity to learn a skill which would help them earn so they are stuck in a cycle of poverty and hopelessness.
At Varosha we provide education, resources, and expertise to give people a hand up. Working with our partners, Varosha runs training centers and vocational schools in: beautician training, tailoring, Jori (gold or silver thread) work, pasta making, embroidery, mushroom cultivation, agricultural assistance, fish farming and small animal husbandry, computer training, and healthcare assistance training. Once training is complete, Varosha has offered interest free loans to trainees to start their own businesses.
